Hopefully sometime soon we can stop writing about the dreadful weather we have been having, despite this its still been another busy week for us here on both sides (nursery and firewood).
We started the week by going to collect some of our oversize firewood which are usual timber transport lorry was unable to reach due to access track being washed away from the vast amounts of water. This size wood (400mm +) is ideal for a Posch 420 auto split machine which you load rings in one end and let it do its thing and they come out as lovely uniform, square logs. Below attached is a video of this said machine in action and as you can see it doesn't take long to process a fair amount of firewood.
Firewood deliveries are still going out daily to see people through the last bit of cold weather, we are now onto our last batch of seasoned dry wood in IBC cages which is why we have limited our maximum order amount to a Half load to allow everyone to get there fair share of wood. However please be assured we are processing everyday to ensure we have quality dry wood ready for deliveries throughout the summer and into the autumn.
As mentioned previously we had some lovely purple beech pleached trees to plant for a new customer, all went well with the ground being nice and soft which is one of the few benefits to this weather ! Both ourselves and the customer where very happy with the results and they feel as though in the not so distant future they can achieve the original look they where going for which was a complete screen across one side of the garden. Unfortunately the phone used to take the photos had no battery so we where unable to get any pictures of the finished result. Please get in touch if you are looking for a similar product to help screen and block of areas and give you some privacy.
Thankyou for reading and hopefully next week we will be able to talk about some sunshine (fingers crossed), Many thanks the Japonica team.
