One of the main points we would like to cover today is why you should stock up on logs during the summer months. Its common practice across the rest of europe to stock up on firewood during the summer and there is mutiple reasons why. Firstly you instantly cut down on lead times due to there being more time in the day for us to deliver and less orders coming through. Further more you garuntee lovely dry seasoned wood come the winter months as it can be stacked during the summer allowed to dry perfectly giving you top qaulity firewood ready for the colder months. From a finacial stand point if there is any price rises for the firewood they usaully take place on the 1st september to you would essentaially getting this years wood for last years prices. If anyone reading this is thinking of getting stocked up during the summer please do not hesitate to get in touch as we can also cut to size during these times.
This week we have also been doing our post winter maintance on our large olives, by doing this we ensure they are looking top notch ready for the summer. Here is a list of what we do:
check for any pests or any sign of disease
ensure they are not being over or under-watered
trim back at least 1/3 of the foliage to allow for new growth
add a tomato/tonic feed to the soil to ensure healthy growth
Thankyou for reading and we hope to see some of you over the bank holiday weekend we are open 7 days a week 9am-3pm including bank holidays.
